Rooted Within

$425.00

This one-of-a-kind vessel features a hand-carved figure held within a network of roots. The imagery is simple and direct—rest, containment, and the kind of change that happens out of view.

Thrown on the wheel in white stoneware, the form is coated in a warm terracotta slip and carved by hand using the sgraffito technique. Each line is cut through the surface to reveal the clay beneath, creating contrast and texture across the piece.

The interior glaze breaks in layered tones of olive, amber, and charcoal, with natural variation at the rim that adds depth without overpowering the form.

  • Approx. 7.5” tall

  • Opening: ~3.5”

  • White stoneware with terracotta slip

  • Hand-carved sgraffito surface

  • Food-safe interior glaze

Made to function as a vase, but equally strong as a standalone piece.
